Milk, the movie
I rented the movie, Milk, last night. Very interesting movie. Sean Penn was superb in this movie. He definitely deserved winning the Oscar for best actor, especially after getting robbed from the Oscar for Best Actor when he played Sam, in I am Sam. He won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Mystic River, so he now has two Oscars. His portrayal of Harvey Milk was incredible. It's honestly hard for me to imagine him as a straight man now. He played a gay man so well. He was so believable. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend you rent it. It was interesting to see just one individual make such a difference in the world of so many.
Single days
I have flown solo the last 5 days while Joseph has been in Utah, at a biliary/ GI conference. While he has enjoyed skiing (in between conference sessions) I have enjoyed my time as a "single" woman. That said, the dogs and I are ready for Joseph's return and are excited to hear about his trip. The weather has been beautiful in Greenville and I spent all day today outside, running, playing tennis, and playing with the dogs. Today took me back to my days in Charlotte where all I did was exercise with friends. I love days when I am active all day and absolutely exhausted at night from the day's events. It's a great feeling.
Congrats to Syracuse for making it to the Sweet 16.

St. Lucia, West Indies Trip- Update
Joseph and I are back from St. Lucia. Our trip was fantastic despite a rough start and ending. We missed our flight leaving Atlanta Airport on Saturday, March 7th and had to drive back to Atlanta the next day to catch a 9:30 am flight. We actually drove to Atlanta Friday night, the 6th, stayed the night in a hotel and still missed our flight the next morning. Instead of staying another night in Atlanta we drove 2 1/2 hours home to spend the night with the dogs, woke up at 3:00 am Sunday morning and drove back to Atlanta. We made sure to get to the airport 2 1/2 hours before departure time to ensure we made our flight!
Last night we arrived in Atlanta, from St. Lucia, an hour late. It took us over 2 hours to get our luggage and get thru customs. It was REALLY frustrating, considering we had a 2 1/2 hour drive home. We arrived home after 14 hours of traveling....Although we walked thru our door at 2:30 am it was great to be home and great to see the dogs!
As for the trip, we stayed at the Stonefield Resort, near the Gros and Petit Piton. This area, near the "town" of Soufriere was the best part of the island. It's very natural and lush. If you haven't been to St. Lucia, it's worth a visit. Make sure to eat at Dasheene, the restaurant at Ladera Resort. And, if you have the bucks, stay there for one night or more. It's unbelievable.

Greenville Snow Storm
We got 4 1/2 inches of snow yesterday/last night. It was awesome. The dogs loved playing in the snow. The only downfall was that my 20-week ultrasound was cancelled because the medical office was closed. I saw on the news that some drivers, particularly the trucks on the road were stuck on I-85, in Spartanburg, SC, for 5-7 hours. what a nightmare.
