Folly Beach without ME????

My friends, Mary Jo and Kari, went to Folly Beach this past weekend.  Here is a hilarious picture of Mary Jo (God knows what she is doing) and a picture of Kari with her two German Shepherds, Grissel and Kizer.  (sorry Kari if I spelled G & K's names wrong)!  Looks like they had a great time.  Meanwhile, I was in Greenville playing crappy tennis and transporting a dog to his new home.... oh, and getting fatter and fatter!

Dave Matthews Band in Charlotte, NC

Joseph & I saw Dave Matthews (with the Avett Brothers) at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Friday.  The Avett Brothers did a great job warming up for Dave.  Joseph loves the Avett Brothers.  Neither of us were overly impressed with the song selection during Dave Matthews' performance.  That said, Dave was still very good and the band did a fantastic cover of "Burning Down the House".  This was "baby's" third concert.  Next up is Rusted Root!!!

US Airways' new check-in baggage fee

I've absolutely had it with airlines.  They make me soooooooooo mad!  EVERY airline takes advantage of their customers.  US Airways, to my delight, decided to re-implement their complimentary beverage service, but has now decided they are going to charge a $5.00 processing fee for checked baggage.  If you check baggage AT THE AIRPORT you will have to pay an additional $5 for the ticket agent to "process your bag" and put a freakin' sticker on it (of course, with no guarantee you luggage will make it to your final destination).  If you check in ONLINE and check a bag ONLINE you will not have to pay the additional $5 processing fee.  This new policy starts July 9, 2009, so if you plan to check a bag try to check in online.

Running Pregnant

I enlisted a friend of mine to run a 5K with me this morning.  We arrived to the race site at 7:30 am, a 1/2 hour before the race was to begin.  NO ONE WAS THERE.  Did I have the wrong start time? The wrong place?  We called my friend's husband, who, after some researching online discovered we were at the wrong location.  I mistakenly thought the race was at one YMCA when it was really at a different one, 30 minutes away.  I fully blame my total stupidity on being pregnant!!!!  Isn't forgetfulness one of the side effects of pregnancy?  My friend and I decided to drive downtown and run the Swamp Rabbit Path thru the park and through downtown Greenville.  It was one of the best runs ever.  Gorgeous morning, lots of people out, good company, and a flat running path with no traffic.  We ran 6 miles.  I felt great at the end.  I am so excited about running 6 miles.  For those of you who think exercising while pregnant is a "no-no"... I have to disagree.  As long as your pregnancy is going well, exercise.  It's the only thing that relieves my constipation and it keeps me "relatively" sane!!  It is amazing how much easier running is when you are running with someone else!  Thanks Brenda, for your understanding and support!!

Jedi's desperate for Camping

This past weekend we left Jedi behind while we camped.  We felt he would not have a good time sharing our campsite with 2 new dogs, in addition to his sisters.  Jedi's buddy, Tom, was willing to watch Jedi for the night.  Jedi and Tom are buddies, so it was a win-win situation for all parties.  That said, Joseph found Jedi snoozing on our sleeping mats shortly after we unpacked the truck.  We promised him we'd camp the weekend of May 2nd, so he only has a few weeks to wait!

Easter Weekend Camping

Joseph and I got together with our friends, Jess & Avery Telligman, along with their two dogs, Daisy and Fletcher.  We met up with them for lunch at "12 Bones"(Asheville) and then headed to Brevard, NC to car camp in Pisgah National Forest.  The temperature was rather cool, especially after the sun went down and the campfire died.  Even Bailey, the "afro coated", thick-furred chessie that she is, was shivering throughout the night.  Here is Avery collecting firewood, Fletcher & Daisy finishing their "chewies", Fletcher swimming, and Ella & I in my sleeping bag.  We managed to complete the camping trip without any of us, including the dogs, needing stitches.  Fletcher got a minor hole in his head, (sorry fletchy) and joseph and I are down 2 leashes, thanks to Ella chewing through them to "break free" from her tie-down.  We had a great time and cannot wait to do again!
